The top 10 'weirdest' kids' shows | News.blog | CNET News.com

One of our own AW Bloggers, Matt Dinniman, posted The Top Ten Weirdest, Creepiest, Freakiest Children's Television Shows on his blog. He then submitted it to FARK.com which put it up on it's May 4th front page. If you go to the May 7th archive, scroll down to May 3rd and then look up 4 or 5 posts you'll see it. It got over 360 comments on FARK and 240 comments on his own blog. Now if you visit Fireflies in the Cloud, you'll see a "as featured on c|NET" button in his sidebar. Yep, c|NET picked it up. I told the SO - he was very impressed.

So lets recap here - it was on FARK, a hugely popular site, it was on c|NET, another extremely well trafficked site. So, how in heck could someone think they can post the whole thing on *their* blog, unattributed? And if you read the comments the plagiarist just allows everyone to think he's the one who's very clever. Sad, just sad.

I went bead crazy again today. This time at Michael's. Now I have all kinds of storage thingies and a bead design board, too. I'm going to make more eyeglass necklace thingies and complementary badge holder necklaces. I was thinking about why all this is making me so happy and it hit me - as a younger person who had very little money, I used to dream of being able to afford all kinds of nifty containers and nicer beads and tools. Now I can. So, it's a dream come true!

If my daughter is reading, she'll laugh at this: I've labeled all the stuff, too, using the SO's label machine...yeah, it's a sickness.

Oh, the SO has set up his old (couple years is all - it's a PowerBook G4 - he got a new one a couple of months ago and put that one out to pasture) Mac for me to try out. If I really like it better than a PC, I'll be considering a Mac for full time use instead of replacing the VAIO with another VAIO (although those come with cool built in video cameras and the G4 doesn't)

OK, time to post this. Catch ya later!

Thanks for the plug. It appears some people went on his blog and posted the url to the original, and the posts all disappeared. Only one remains, and I think it's cause he missed it. He was also sent a private message requesting it be attributed, but no luck.

I'd missed the post on Matt's site - so thanks for the link Dawno :) And yeah, it annoys the heck out of me when people just rip your stuff off like that on the Net. Come on, is it so hard to come up with your own stuff? Given what this guy is doing, I guess it is ...

Well, I contacted the administrator of that site via email a couple days ago, but I haven't heard anything yet.

re: Mac versus a PC

I use a mac at work and a PC at home, and I would take the Mac any day if I wasn't so in love with games.

You're so darn cute! When I get back to wearing my glasses you need to make me a "eyeglass necklace" so I can be as awesome as you! And yay for OCD!!!

-also, do you guys have an exta laptop hanging around??? Cause Cameron's broke, and anything would be better... Just sayin...

LOVLOVELOVE!

I worry that someone's going to steal my posts about the Author-ese Translator over at MWWB one of these days...

Earthlings suck.

Dawno! I didn't know you did beady stuff too! That's pretty dang cool. :)

After spending the last month writing and getting ready for the conference, I got bit by the bead bug again and I've made a few things the past couple days. Going to make more tomorrow after work. (Out of town, their TV/cable is horrid. MOm watches, I write or bead. :) )
